The American Legion was chartered by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic, mutual-help, wartime veteran's organization. A community-service organization, which now numbers nearly 3 million members --men and women -- in nearly 15,000, American Legion Posts worldwide.

Norco Post 328 was founded in 1929, celebrating our 70th birthday in 1999. Post 328 was established to provide a home base for the Veterans of the area. Our Post home, located at the corner of Hamner Avenue and Veterans Memorial Street, consists of social, meeting and event facilities for Post members and guests as well as rental facilities for the community at large. In addition to the members and guests only ClubRoom, the Post provides a large hall and full kitchen for both Post functions and rentals to the community for weddings, birthdays and other events.

The Norco Post "Family" consists of more than 1,000 members belonging to three organizations: American Legion Post 328, American Legion Auxiliary Unit 328 and Sons Of The American Legion Squadron 328. These Post Family groups organize and present fund-raising functions to provide sponsorship and support for numerous civic, veteran and non-veteran groups. The Post Family sponsors and/or contributes to groups such as: Boy Scout Troop 328, Cub Scout Pack 328, California Boy's State, California Girl's State, CYSO Soccer, Junior All-American Football, The Lonnie Rossiter College Scholarship Fund and the California Veteran's Home-Barstow - to list only a few.

In addition to special events, Norco Post 328 maintains standard operating hours for the ClubRoom and provides weekday lunches, Friday night dinners and dances, monthly SAL Saturday night Fish Fries and weekly Sunday breakfasts and Saturday afternoon Tacos. The Post also operates Thursday night Bingo - open to the general public.

If you are in our area, stop in and say hello. If you are not a member, but are eligible to join - please do so. Membership eligibility in The American Legion is based on honorable federal active duty service with the U.S. Armed Forces or, under certain conditions, with it's allies, between:

June 25, 1950 to January 31, 1955 (Korean War)
February 28, 1961 to May 7, 1975 (Vietnam War)

December 20, 1989 to January 31, 1990
(Operation Just Cause - Panama)

We look forward to seeing you at Post 328, Norco, California.
